New Years Resolutions

New Years Eve brings to mind so many thoughts. Thoughts of the last year things I did and things I didn't do. Loss. New beginnings. I am not one that usually keeps their new years resolutions. In fact I often make them but keeping them well that is a whole nother story. Am I where I want to be in my life right now? Nope. Am I where I feel that the Lord wants me to be. Yep. Its may seem hard to follow the savior and do all that he wants us to do. To listen to that still small voice and follow the Lords plan for you is so simple He has a plan and has paved the way for it. I often think that we make it harder than it is. I am so guilty of this. I have often thought I was being obedient to the Lords plan and let my own thoughts as to what I want get in the way. I have learned so much in the past few months about how to tune into what the Lord wants for us and to apply those skills to our every day life and make our journey easier. Ive been reading a book called Drawing on the Powers of Heaven by Grant Von Harrison. It is a wonderful book and a true testament to the scriptures and what a gift they are. Everything that heavenly father requires of us and wants us to do is there in black and white. How easily distracted we can get from the simpleness of  directions that are given to us. How many of us don't read the instructions that we get in a box of something. It seems like to use the new item is so self explanatory. Why do we need the directions. I have been so slack the past few years as to reading the scriptures on a daily basis. Its not that I dont have a love for them. Its that I have taken reading the directions for granted. I'm not proud of this, however I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have had to build my testimony. I now have such a strong testimony of the scriptures and the fact that Heavenly Father has gifted us with written word as to his plan. How this has made my daily life easier and more enjoyable is the greatest gift that I have received this season. I will make some resalutions tonight, I'm not sure that I will stick to all of them, I hope to. however I do know one that I will stick to and that is to continually read and study my scriptures on a daily basis. To set time aside each day to become immersed in the word of the Lord and the teachings of his son Jesus Christ and the prophets and leaders that we have been blessed with. I hope that you will make resolutions this year and that you will stick with them. I pray that you will be able to receive blessings from reading your scriptures and grow stronger in your knowledge of the Lords plan for us.

If you don't have your own scriptures and would like a free copy please leave me a note and I will send you some.

Happy New Years
